Things To Do in El Paso During Spring Break

1

Spring break is upon us! How did this happen? Christmas was just yesterday. Let’s admit it. Most of us haven’t planned a thing. That’s ok because we have put together a wide variety of places in El Paso to visit this spring break.

The Sun City is the perfect place to plan outdoor spring activities. Here is a quick guide to spring break in El Paso.

Outdoor Fun

  1. Picnic in the park! Try a new park or head out to one of our El Paso staples. Memorial Park has vast rolling hills of grass and a large playground.
  2. Chuck Heinrich Memorial park is a hidden gem in the Northeast. Its beautiful desert landscape and Tin Mine trail are an adventure for the family. Hike to the only tin mines in the United States.
  3. John Lyon’s Park, known in our family as the “Dino Park,” has a T-Rex fossil protruding from the ground! This is the place to take your dino-loving toddler for the afternoon.

  4. Bulldog Championship Park, named in honor of the Socorro High School Bulldogs after their 2009 Baseball State Championship win! This park has a small duck pond, splash pad, and play area with shaded seating.
  5. Keystone Heritage Park and El Paso Botanical Gardens. You might think that desert living and botanical gardens don’t seem to mesh. However, it’s quite the contrary! Our landscape has colorful and vibrant native plants. Stop by the gardens with the family to take in the beauty.
  6. Head to Ascarate Park to feed the ducks at the lake. This county park has many family amenities like boating, fishing, and golfing. The Healing Garden Memorial is also a quiet sanctuary at the park to honor the victims of the tragic August 3rd shooting.

Animal Lovers

  1. The El Paso Zoo is the perfect place for your animal-loving little ones. There are four unique zones at our zoo: Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Chihuahuan Desert. Each area is filled with animals native to that area. Between exhibits, stop at the cafes and cool down with an Icee or grab some lunch. Before you head out, make sure to take a trolley ride around the park.

  2. Take a drive out to San Eli and visit the Licon Dairy petting zoo and have lunch at the Outlaw Grill. Before heading out, stop in at the shop and grab some of that famous Licon Dairy asadero cheese.

Sports Fanatics

  1. Top Golf is always a fun family time. If you head out on a Tuesday, you play for half off!
  2. Catch an El Paso Locomotives home. Their home opener is Saturday, March 11! Here is this season’s schedule.

Spring Break Camps

There are several spring break camps in the El Paso area this year. We are excited to see them back! There are half-day and full-day options. Check out Spring Break Camps in the El Paso Area to find the best option for your littles.

Experience the Arts

You can explore the city’s museums at your own pace with exhibits for the entire family. However, for a more tailored experience, schedule a guided tour through El Paso MCAD.

  1. El Paso Museum of Art is a gem in Downtown El Paso. At the heart of downtown, experience world-renowned art exhibits that even the littlest art lovers will appreciate.
