America’s Birthday is happening soon, so we’ve rounded up local and surrounding area 4th of July events for your family to enjoy.

Up and Running 4th of July 5K

3233 N Mesa, El Paso

Tuesday, July 4 | 7:04 am

This fun, energizing event costs just $25 until July 1. After that, the price goes up to $30 for each participant. Proceeds benefit Run El Paso, a not-for-profit organization, and its mission of promoting health and fitness in the community through running. Run El Paso supports our community through various efforts which have included hosting runs and events, performing community service projects, providing scholarships, hosting food and toy drives, and much more.


Pop Goes the Fort

Biggs Park, 11388 Sergeant Major Blvd, Fort Bliss

Tuesday, July 4 | 7:30-9:30 pm

Join the USO Show Troup and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra to celebrate America’s Independence Day. This FREE event is open to the public. Biggs Park opens at 4:30 pm. Concert and fireworks start at 7:30 pm. Visitors are required to obtain a Recreational Pass beforehand. For questions please call 915.588.8247 or visit the link above. El Paso Chihuahuas :: GECU Independence Day Celebration

Southwest University Park, El Paso

July 4 | Gates open at 5:30 pm, first pitch is at 6:35 pm

Join the Chihuahuas and GECU at the ballpark for three nights of Independence Day celebration, including a specialty jersey auction and a wonderful fireworks display.


4th of July Celebration at Ascarate Park

Ascarate Park, El Paso

Tuesday, July 4 | 2-10 pm

The fun starts a 2 pm with two swim sessions available: 2 pm – 5 pm and again from 6 pm- 9 pm. Adults are $3 and children are $2 (cash only). 

Food trucks are available from 3-10 pm.

If you would like to take part in the VIP experience at the Ascarate Gold Course VIP Picnic Party for the best seats for the fireworks extravaganza, it’s $35 for adults and $10 for children 10 years of age and under. You can purchase tickets at the Pro Shop in advance. These tickets include dinner from Clasico, a parking pass, door prizes, fun yard games, and live music by Hypnosis.

Fireworks will begin promptly at 9:20 pm. Parking is $5 per car. 

*For more information, please call 915-771-2380. All reserved picnic shelters must check-in by 4 pm on Monday, July 4 to avoid forfeiting the rental. No refunds will be given to late check-ins. El Paso County Parks & Recreation would like to remind the public that NO alcohol or tobacco is permitted inside Ascarate Park. Safety is the top priority; staff and sheriff’s deputies will be on-site throughout the event for any concerns or assistance required. Park hours for the holiday are 5:30 am to 11 pm.


Las Cruces Fourth of July Celebration

Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park, 3205 Arrowhead Drive, Las Cruces, NM

Tuesday, July 4 | 4-9:45 pm

The City of Las Cruces and New Mexico State University (NMSU) are teaming up to host the city’s annual Fourth of July Celebration Concert and Fireworks display on the NMSU campus. The multi-platinum Chicago-based band Plain White T’s will headline this year’s FREE concert with a solo performance by Raul Malo, front man of the GRAMMY® Award winning band the Mavericks, opening the show. The concert will begin at 6 pm with the Plain White T’s performing at 8 pm. Fireworks display at 9:45 pm.

*Gates open at 4 pm. Food vendors will be on site. No grilling, personal fireworks, recreational vehicles, or overnight parking will be allowed. Alcohol will be available for purchase and consumption will be in specific designated areas. No outside alcohol will be allowed. Las Cruces 2022 Electric Light Parade

Begins at Apodaca Park, 801 E. Madrid Avenue, Las Cruces, NM

Tuesday, July 4 | 9 pm

The parade will begin at 9 pm on Sunday, July 3rd at Apodaca Park. It will travel south on Solano Drive, east on Hadley Avenue, and end at Maag Softball Complex.


Star-Spangled Celebration – Inn of the Mountain Gods

287 Carrizo Canyon Road, Mescalero, NM

Tuesday, July 4 | 3-10 pm

This FREE family event features live entertainment from DJ Johnny Kage and DJ Frizzo, delicious food, and the biggest and longest fireworks show in New Mexico.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to avoid being turned away once parking capacity is reached. Parking is limited on a first-come basis and available at Inn of the Mountain Gods, Mescalero Big Game Hunting Lodge and Disc Golf. Shuttle Service will be available.

We also encourage guests to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to comfortably enjoy the event. Tent canopies are strictly prohibited. Masks are recommended but not required.


Drive-In Fireworks Display

NM Museum of Space History, 3198 State Route 2001, Alamogordo, NM 

Tuesday, July 4 | 8-10 pm

Make your way to the NM Museum of Space History for an epic firework display. Free to all cars that have at least one ISHFF Member. Join our support for the NM Museum of Space History.
